Ate Santa Claus in Nangka Elementary School

This event was one of the best outreached programs of our company, Indra Philippines, Inc.
You know me; I'm a big fan of volunteerism. I liked collecting different experiences ranging from tree planting, CP kids assistance, being an “ate” to cute kids and a lot to come!

It’s December and it’s Christmas! My favorite month of the year!

The kids were in their grade 1 level. They really have a lot of energy and smile on their faces was very fulfilling. I hope I developed those very childlike characteristic J

We grouped the kids and have their ate and kuya around them. We made several activities that they enjoyed mostly the taya-tayaan, what’s your order and doctor kwak-kwak. I missed those times with my own childhood friends!

We provided McDo for lunch and they really loved it! We did a song number for them and they sang with us. The kids also performed Oppa Gangnam Style. CUTE!!

And the most exciting part for them was the gift giving!! I remember I’m the one who put the school supplies on their bags.  It’s an awesome feeling to see them very ecstatic! I’ll surely do this even I’m not in Indra anymore. I’ll keep on supporting worthy people to be happy. Hope you too!  J

CP Kids are my Inspiration

As part of our company's project called Accessible Technologies. They ask volunteer to make a move and lend a hand to kids with Cerebral Palsy in Philippine Cerebral Palsy Inc.
At first I was reluctant to volunteer but my desire to know them deeper and experience a once in a lifetime event to be with those Cerebral Palsy people prevailed to me.
Cerebral Palsy according to PCPI is "CP describes chronic conditions affecting body movements and muscle coordination. An early non-progressive brain lesion which is not episodic, leads to a motoric deficit, disorder of tone and posture"
Indra Phils. Inc help incapable people to use technology such as computers like a normal one. The software are Virtual Keyboard and Virtual Head Mouse, you will only use your head to manoeuvre  the mouse and your eyes or mouth to click any applications on the desktop.

Honestly, the signage of the PCPI was not visible to the eyes, the paint was starting to fade. We almost got lost on road not knowing that we already passed by to the institution. The room was not ok, there's discoloration of the ceiling and beginning to crash. I would love to help, maybe in time I can afford to. Hope you too!
The people were already there at the room, the kids were all smiling!! But only Michael who's like a receptionist, he was all smile! Waving his hand to every person coming from the door. Some of the volunteer thought that he was normal kid, but then, he's amazing! :) Some kids can walk on their own and others can't.
The program started, Boss's of PCPI and Indra both gave their speech. Our company gave a complete desktop and they got excited!! It will help for the therapy of the kids to help their hard/soft muscle to be normal. And the main event was to get a kid and assist them to use the virtual keyboard and head mouse. I chose Moonlee. When I saw him, his face was like saying "Please choose me :)"  with a smile. He is great! He always smile when the video camera pointed at his face. Actually he can type his name using keyboard, but of course it's hard. I can see the eagerness on his face. I can't help but look on his eyes. I'm moved. After the activity, the kids performed, they sung a Christian song. You know their condition, they can't move their muscle, but it's incredible that they can say the words. I felt the heart in the way they sung. I almost cry. I'm teary eyed. (As of this moment I'm still teary eyed every time I reminisce) . We did several games. And their all happy and really competitive! You'll see they love to mingle and do all them at their own. We truly had fun! The room filled of laughter. We gave prizes!! Chocolates and gifts from the company. Press Play also performed a song for them. And the last part was the eating part!! We shared them yummy food and their all happy! It's Michael who's always want on the camera.
I'm beyond doubt amazed and happy to experienced this event. I admire the family and friends and volunteers for their love, effort , patience and time they dedicated to CP kids. I salute them. I wonder when those kids will grow older, who will take care of them? I pray that they're care taker live longer and stronger. CP kids were inspiration!

Please donate and visit them and feel the love, smile and inspiration you need and you'll truly appreciate how lucky and bless you are! :)

The Slice Experience
It's Sunday!! For many people it means Church and Family Day!!  We woke up early to go to mass and after hearing a healing gospel, we're ready to go malling!!Oh! It's also my pre-birthday!! My birthday is on Monday, so I decided to treat my family. Since I got a deal from Ensogo for 50% discount worth of 500php food to The Slice, I used the 3 vouchers I purchased.I got the idea to went there because I saw it on Kris TV, Ms. Pia Cayetano owned the resto. The staff was also warm, a guy first approached us and we pointed a table for 3. I told him that I got a voucher..I was kinda, afraid hehe, but actually I've experienced many times to eat in different resto's using  deals!.. I was very frugal and practical! :)...Going back to The Slice...The place was neat, artistically nice and I like the music the resto is playing at that moment. There were photos of Pia and paintings on the wall.I noticed that the menu's are also written on the green board using colorful chalks. The muffins and cupcakes were displayed beside entrance door. I saw it and OMG!! They were all looks yummy!! On the right area nearby cupcakes were veggies and other drinks that you can buy.
We ordered Beef Rice Melt (Php 430), it's made of beef, brown rice, generous amount of cheese. It's actually good for 3 persons. The meal was very healthy and tasty.
We also chose 2 Panini,Tuna Melt with Salad (Php 200) and Turkey (Php 150).The bread was from the fridge where some beverages where sold. The ingredients complement each other. I love the tuna and the salad!! It takes 20 minutes to served all our orders.

For the finale... the talked about muffins!! We're after to Choco Yema, the best-seller! I also opted to Red Velvet and Choco Madness. We take-out all of them. Thanks to the vouchers, I only paid additional Php 20. Very worth it!!
