This is the last essay I made during college I made last December 16, 2009 , enjoy reading!

To the Young Women of Malolos

Women are like precious gems that should be loved and protected. Dr. Jose Rizal was an awe-inspiring man. His way of expressing admiration for the Filipina especially to the women of Malolos was not a guy thing yet he still wrote it because of so much respect for his countrymen.

During the Spanish time, aside from being a servants and slaves, Filipina were only at home, taking care of their parents and siblings as well as doing house chores and be a loyal and loving housewives. Although, some moment in time, they realized that they should had the right to be educated just like gentleman do. To be free and express that they can do what life can offer.

Everyone deserves to be fair at all means. I’m deeply having a high regard for the women of Malolos who fought for their rights and justice. So I wonder why grant the wish? I believe, Spaniards were so afraid that through proper knowledge and sufficient awareness, we can defend and mêlée for our freedom.

Education is a weapon against ignorance. It is important for every nation to have this basic necessity not to chosen people but for everyone. It should not be deprived to women just because they were weak. Thinking it was wasted because woman will just stay at home after marrying a man. Really there’s no need to be afraid of losing the dominance of a man because woman was very understanding and loving. Women were created in this planet to be like that, to bring joyfulness and satisfaction to every man. And vice versa. A man should respect and love a woman because without her, he is incomplete.  

Keep in mind that a woman once becomes a mother; she will give up anything and everything. The love, care, protection, guidance, sacrifices, thoughtfulness as well as friendship, all of these positive characteristics a mother can provide to her child/children. A woman plays an important role in the humanity. We have a responsibility also a privilege to bear a child that would help the next generation to be successful and independent on their own. It’s in our hands on how we would raise our children. Do they develop as a bad or good person? Is it another servant or a new brave man to save our land? Remember that every child was a gift from Almighty God. Let’s be optimistic that a new born baby would be another blessing in life and could help us realized that there were still hope ahead us. Trained them to be a strong and intelligent people; teach them not to used and harm anybody just to gain anything they want. Inherit all the encouraging quality of the native Filipino. Live with it and maintain it. Awakened them that Spaniards were nobody and nothing but a trash! Their soul should be in the fire for being like that! The word conscience were out of their dictionary.  

Spartan women were amazing! I watched a TV series about them long ago; they fight for their rights and protect the people they love. They were physically powerful. The mere fact that determinations were the only weapon they have. No matter what happened, they will sacrifice anything even their own lives. Even the freedom of togetherness with their love ones would be the payment. I hope that someday their bravery could be upon us.

On the other hand, it’s a good thing the American and European women were authoritative and stimulated. Just for the fact that they’re educated enough and independent, to struggle for the happiness and progress of their own land. They can achieve liberty but why we can’t? How come? It was because we were violently and merciless handcuff by the Spaniards who were greedy of money. It’s all about money. Remember, money is the root of all evil. 

Spanish brought nothing pleasant but hardship and prejudice to our motherland. Among them were friars who think they’re a heaven sent people! Uses religion to gain money and power, made it as a nice business enterprise. Outspokenly, until now the many people behind religious conviction still do that awful thing. Friars were liars! They used Almighty God and the sacredness of bible, they’re not disgraced with what their doing. I assumed, some written in the bible were revised for the benefit of the “holy people”. Attach the beliefs and commandments they want the people to believe. Not with Almighty God’s heavenly words but on their on evil words! Christianity was okay if only it didn’t involved malevolent and black propaganda. I wonder why some of movie has a storyline about the unfaithfulness of the friars to the pledge they promised? Its only shows that many friars and religious people where not genuine to their vocation. They were using it as a ticket to a faster gaining of wealth.

     I remember what my father told me; as long as a nation was a under the Catholic religion, it suffers poverty and distress. Just look to the standing of our government. Look at the people around us, many underprivileged Filipinos were suffering from hunger and illnesses. As well to the other countries with the same religion. We cannot blame them because we give them the opportunity to do it on us. They were just born gluttonous as ever!        

It’s great to know that we have the Almighty God, to love us eternally and forgive us unconditionally. Thanks to them for introducing it to us. I think that’s the only good thing they brought to our nation as well as nice genes! Tremendous hurtful memoirs on the other hand some good ethnicity have became part of our Filipino traditions. Even though there’s more to be mad at them, let’s face the future with no more hatred and anguished. It’s better to be peacefully living and happily loving.

As a girl, I dream of having a partner that could provide me and our family anything we want. All the generosity of love, security, loyalty, comfort, happiness and understanding that he could give to us. A person who was man enough to protect us against dangerous acts. It is every woman wants to experience in any man. Consider good mother plus good father equals good family! Women of Malolos would love to know that there’s a way to help them get the principles they’ve been aiming for. Recognized to everybody that the simple and modest Filipina were a fighter and can solved any obstacle in life!

The Filipina were one of a kind. Just look at the foreigners who go crazy over our fellow Filipina. Even they’re dirty old man; still they can provide what they need. It’s a proof that modern Filipina was realistic but still keep the loving and understanding wife as ever. Let Almighty God do the rest and trust with Him.
